I am currently on H1..working for company A..
Can i work for another company...without transferring my H1 and can i get a 1099 Misc....( they cannot run my payroll as i wont be employed with them)....the work is in the same field...
if 1099 is not feasible.. the only option is to get paid in cash..which i dont want to do..
any inputs.

Hi,
I filed my 485 in Dec 2004.My PD is June 2004.
Got married in 2005.
If (Less Probability..) i get my 485 approved and not able to add my Spouse's to my 485.
What would be my Options.
Please advice.
I am no lawyer, but from what I know you can file for spouse's 485 until your own 485 is being processed. Once it is approved, you CANNOT file for spouses's 485. Trying to get your spouse into the US once you have a GC can take a very long time. However, the post above seems to have some different info. Follow that up as well.

I don't understand this, we are talking about these backlogs, which are effecting about 300K - 500K skilled immigrants, and we only have about 4000 members yet. We should take this as challenge and go on to drive to speak to people like us to increase the members strength, so we will have significant backing and Senate / House / President will pay attention to what we request.
Just a thought,

Dear Friends,
Several members of the Immigration Voice organization are back in Washington, DC for this weekend too (Jan 21, Jan 22).
As you can imagine, we are here to put up a serious fight against the anti-immigration lobbyist and my sincere thanks to all these volunteers who have already spent a sizeable portion of their personal time and money (in addition to the direct contribution to immigrationvoice.org) towards a common goal. The least we can do is support them monetarily and by volunteering for a common cause. After all, aren't we going to benefit from their efforts too?

I was just wondering if they stall the 485 processing once they issue an RFE on EAD. Would they hold the case in abeyance or are these two mutually exclusive.
Btw, am not sure of the reason for RFE yet.
Has anyone had their 485 approved with an RFE pending on EAD or AP?
EB2-I
PD: June 2004
I140 Approved: Aug 2006
485 RD: July 26, 2007
RFE on EAD: Aug 6, 2008

Thanks for your reply.
One more query, if I go to India while my petition is pending. I will need to get new H1 stamped.
Can there be any issues when I go for stamping?

"As a result, average processing times for certain application types may become longer. In particular, naturalization applications filed after June 1, 2007 may take approximately 16 - 18 months to process."
What are the chances for the people who applied on July 1 ?
Please read carefully. It is only for "naturalization".

Hi,
Can anyone share the experience of H1 Visa stamping in Hyderabad. As per their web site they need quite a lot of documentation. Not sure if such doecumentation is required for visa revalidation (same category - H1) as well.
Thanks
Bob
Not sure if this would be helpful to you - but my friend's wife got her first time H4 stamping done in Hyd recently without any issues.
Documents asked were recent paystubs and last year's W2.

Maybe if it were wolf tracks or bears or something dangerous.
... especially if the wolf or bear were standing at the end of the tracks, looking back over its shoulder (from a safe distance, of course!]. That would make an interesting shot.

True enough, Dixie. I was hoping that other affected parties would become aware of this site through digg. Even one more contribution through this promotion would be worth it, I think.

You dont have to apply for a COS as long as she is leaving US before her current I-94 expires. However, note that when she goes for her H4 interview, she might be asked to prove her H1 status by showing her employment details (recent pay checks, tax documents..) in addition to your employment documents before they give her the H4 Visa...This happened with one of my friends at Chennai embassy...Just wanted to give you a heads up on that....

Guys,
Just wondering about my options of getting a job in Canada and getting my permanent residency after that
I know this route:
Apply for permanent residency and then go and find a job
But what about this:
Find a job and go there on some kind of visa and then apply for PR

3) What docs should I be carrying to awnser questions at POE.Is client letter mandatory or continued employment letter and I797 good
Kindly let me know your advice in this case
